Had a grand weekend, there was stalking, boozing, lil smokies wrapped in bacon, good friends....all the essential components of a good weekend. All packed into a day and a half.
Took my first crack at portraits tonight. Angelina was kind enough to be my first victim. Considering just *how* ghetto-riffic my lighting set up is, I'm pretty pleased with them...hopefully Ange likes them too.
Who's volunteering to be next?
Tomorrow night DBR show at Liars Club.
I'd love to write more but I'm tired and determined since I have the night off to be in bed by midnight...

Still unpacking and settling in. Still deeply in love with apartment. As you can see in the picture, wee tiny princess is acclimating well. I still need to paint and hang stuff, but have to hold off on that until I am financially back on track which most likely wont be for another couple of weeks...have been thoroughly enjoying my kitchen and having room to cook and places to put everything. Still in that new apartment honeymoon phase where I do the dishes every day and take out the trash when it needs to go out rather than three days later...am hoping to maintain this but you know how these things go...also sleeping better and have broken my habit of falling asleep with the telly on.
Rock star temp agency gal got me into a new position that started this past wednesday. More money, a full 40 hours a week (other place I averaged 35-37.5). I'm filling the position of some chick who just up and quit out of the blue, the company called my agency and said they needed someone with a thick skin who would be comfortable working with a bunch of guys who don't necessarily always mind their P's and Q's. J (rock star temp agent) said "I have the perfect candidate". I started the next day, three days in I really like it and I hope very much that they keep me. In other work news, later this week I start training at the night gig to meet my true calling - bartending. I don't have any shifts as yet but I'll get fill in shifts and possibly event stuff...if business picks up I may be able to score some weekend shifts which would be effing *sweet*.
All this means I won't be getting evicted next month, which is v. exciting.
Haven't done a whole lot else, not do I anticipate I will since I'm back to working the 55-65 hour week, which will be ongoing until someone officially hires me. I *did* run into ex-Matilda door hotness A on the train last week, the first day at the new gig as a matter of fact so I was dressed in my finest inoffensive school marm gear and was looking *hawt* let me tell you. Anyway, he made it known he goes to the old man bar near my house and suggested perhaps we might see each other there some time...I did a little recon through my channels and discovered he is no longer with girlfriend...good to know, since he's SO much more apropriate than my current crush, he who we shall simply call "My Hideously Inapropriate Crush"...Some light stalking may be on the docket for one of my upcoming nights off, Miss Jessica has agreed to be my co-pilot..and no, i shall not be spending my nights off in an old man bar, I know where he works, and conveniently, it's a bar.
Hopefully I'll get some picture taking done soon. Chatted last night with Calvin Marty who wants me to come shoot his next live show, so that's coming up in a week or so... DBR also have a show coming up at El Gato, which I want to go shoot (It's a birthday party for a dog, and there will be free BBQ and possibly some drag queens, seriously, how could I NOT go??..)
So that's what's been up with me. You may now go back to your respective days.
I am so in love with my new apartment I don't even know where to start. The copious space, the light, the gargantuan tub that drains in a timely manner and therefore isn't all gross so I can take a bath (and I did, and it was *awesome*) the kitchen that has enough storage for all my gadgets and fancy glasses I never use...oooh, and the super creepy basement I can't wait to take pictures of....
Aside from her terror of the doorbell, wee tiny princess is acclimating quickly to her new digs, from my bed she has north and west facing windows to peer from, and since I finally got my bed reassembled today she really hasn't moved from the one spot. She's gonna be annoyed when I go to bed tonight and she has to share.
Many thanks to Silent Ron who today was kind enough to come by with his truck (Ron on 4 wheels, yeah! I know! weird!!) and take me to Mr. and Mrs. Bridgets place to pick up a futon couch, and thanks to those crazy kids for giving it to me...now i just need to negotiate a ride for a coffee table from Miss Julie and I will officially be all moved in.
I want to send a shout out to Starving Artists Movers who again did a stellar job getting me from point A to point B. I love these guys and even though they don't have the high fallutin equipment the big companies have, if you're moving from one place to the other and don't want to bug your friends, these guys do a great job for very little more than what it would cost to rent a truck and bribe your friends with beer and pizza.
I hope to start working again this week (I'm kinda fuckakaed if I don't) but if I'm not off to work tomorrow morning, I can at least get closer to finishing unpacking and settling in...and then of course the sending of resumes and the possibly baking cookies for the lads at work, just because I can...
OK, I'm gonna take a melatonin and go to bed. I'll share some pictures of the place with all my crap in it once I get it a little more organized....
Oh, and Miss Sarah, I hope your new pad is bringing you as much joy as mine...
