I'm in an 80's girl pop sort of mood....

I am a hopeless dork

Yesterday Mrs. B., knowing what a complete trollop I am for all things sparkly, gifted me with a phone bling kit, which naturally delighted me no end. This, (combined with a picture of my first crush ever, pinched from the Red Eye yesterday) is the result (it may still be in progress, I haven't yet decided, and yes, I am completely aware that I am not 13 years old):

Further misc...

A slightly belated (by, like, an hour...) Happy Birthday to Spot and Harry...additional congrats to Spot for tricking the lovely and talented Wendy into marrying him in St. Lucia a couple of weeks ago...

I haven't had a cigarette in 6 weeks. I don't want to...but this business of me having to eat EVERYTHING. ALL. THE. TIME. Has to stop. yeah sure, lung cancer and emphysema aren't very sexy, but nobody likes the angry fat girl...particularly the *tall* angry fat girl.  Mrs. B. is trying to entice me into joining a gym with her and Miss Sarah...I'm tempted...perhaps once I return from Massachusetts..

Today due to important viewings of House and Jeeves and Wooster (as my Hugh Laurie fixation reaches a fever pitch...) I got no housework done. Hopefully Saturday or Sunday I will get the house clean, as I would hate for Mr. and Mrs. B to discover how I really live while I am visiting the parents

Attention Mrs. Sherri (or Mr. Sherri, if he happens to be reading) I am still awaiting a name and pictures of this baby you have supposedly had. I'm demanding proof.

I don't want to go to work tomorrow (later today) but Taste of Chicago* starts tomorrow, and it's right across the street from work...I may have to sneak out and secure some meat on a stick for myself.

*Taste of Chicago, for you Baltimore folks, is like Artscape, but much bigger, and without pit beef, and the false pretense of being about art.

craving...

pork rinds.

I never in a million years imagined I would ingest such a revolting thing...never mind sit here and be able to think about nothing else except how tasty some would be right now...

Bits and bobs...

Methinks this year I will be going to this...the mind reels at the photo op possibilities...

My latest netflix telly obsession has been House. I admit, I at first dismissed the show based on my distaste for Hugh Laurie doing an American accent...having overcome that however, I've come to realise the show is brilliant (aside from Cameron, god how I hate her), and Hugh Laurie does a mighty fine american accent...anyway...I've been smitten with him since his days on Geeves and Wooster with the lovely and immensely talented Stephen Fry. It galls me no end that Netflix doesn't yet carry "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" Thank god for YouTube. This particular skit was so immensely funny I very nearly wet myself.

This pleases me no end.

Tomorrow it will be 6 weeks without a cigarette. SIX WEEKS, BITCHES! Interested to know where all the money I'm supposedly saving is tho, since it sure as fuck isn't in my pocket...

I'm so happy it's Wednesday.

Congratulations!

I'm an Auntie again!

Mrs Sherri just called to inform me that the colaborative effort between her and Mr. Sherri has officially arrived. He is big and healthy and has the correct amount of apendages, all in the right places. What she didn't mentione was a name, so for now I can only say welcome, "Untitled".

Homeward bound...

Heading back east to see the folks in the beginning of July...dearly hoping I shall not lose my mind as I will be spending a solid 5 days there...which exceeds my tolerance capacity by 2 days....am hoping to find something interesting to do while I'm there...bands, car show...*something*...at the very least, a lot of Massachusetts is very pretty, and I can take pictures...

On a completely different topic - what in fuckery is the stuff that so many women seem to be using in their hair these days, that makes it look like they just got done doing the oil wrestling at Uncle Dad's Bar and Bait shop...it's vile and they should all stop it.

Woo!

On saturday I get to go to cartopia!

Y'all can't wait for the pictures, I know.

80's sitcoms and reason #567654 you know I will die a crazy cat lady...

Anybody remember the theme song from Mr. Belvedere? Because I have had that damned song stuck in my head all week...and I don't even know the effing words beyond "streaks on the china never mattered before...". It's seriously driving me crazy. I hadn't even thought of that show in 20 years, or however long it's been since it was on the air (I'm thinking around the same time as (shudder) "Alf"?) WHY WON'T IT GO AWAY??? AND WHERE DID IT COME FROM???? GOD DAMMIT!!!

I was grousing about this at work the other day..Big Rob tried to help by singing to me a hard rock power ballad a cappella version of the theme from Charles in Charge, which despite being *highly* amusing, didn't make it go away...

In other news...My wee tiny princess Napoleon turns 16 this month. Just think, if it had been *me* who gave birth rather than the dearly departed Miss Feenie (because believe it or not, back in the day, I used to get action once in a while) I would have a venom and rage fuelled adolescent girl to contend with, rather than a sweetly neurotic geriatric cat, who sleeps about 20 hours a day. I think in her old age, she is going a bit deaf, so my fun new game as of late has been "Creep up on Napoleon when she's sleeping and give her a poke". I know it's wrong of me, but startled cats are funny.

I need to get out more.

Oh, a belated Happy Birthday yesterday to Miss A.
