Veggies

This morning got up after a scant 3 hours sleep (I elected to spare y'all the insomniac never ending post mullarkey) went over to the post office to drop off some ebay sales, and then headed over to the Lincoln Square Farmers Market, where I secured the booty pictured above, all for less than $10.  After that I was off to Trader Joes to get some balsamic vinegar, one of those disposable pepper grinder thingies, a baguette, some basil and some mozerella...lunch consisted of a tomato salad with both red and yellow tomatoes, basil, balsamic, sweet onion and mozerella, and some salt and pepper....not sure what dinner is gonna be yet..

Got a call this afternoon which concluded in my accepting a part time admin gig in the marketing department of a local university.  Only 17 hours a week, but okay money for what I'll be doing, and it'll keep me busy a couple of days a week.

woo!

Yet more rock and roll pictures...

Last night went out to Mutiny to catch the Dirt Box Racers...good show, despite thin crowd.  Took some pictures, you can see them here

Seems I had something else to talk about, but it currently escapes me....

Woo (squared!)

So my darling boys from Baltimore so completely rocked my face off last night. Seriously. I have never ever been disappointed by these guys. I LOVE THEM, AND IF YOU DISPUTE ME ON THIS I WILL TOTALLY PLANT MY FOOT IN YOUR ASS.  I wlll conclude groupie rambling with this picture.   Rest of the pictures can be seen here, or click the picture to the right (an since this doesn't work in Firefox, if you have netscape or explorer, please let me know if the link doesn't take you to the album)

After the show Miss Julie and I closed Gunther Murphy's, and then headed over to Underbar with Tony..we then proceeded to close Underbar, after which Tony was poured into a cab back to his hotel, and Miss Julie and I made our separate ways home.

Overall, a five star evening.

GO SEE SPLITSVILLE TONIGHT OR THE DEVIL WILL GET YOU

Okay, clearly, if not in the Chicagoland area,  you get a get out of hell free pass, but no other excuses will be accepted.  They rock and deserve your adoration.

I acknowledge that I am perhaps, inordinately excited about the show tonight. I suppose because it comes at a good time. For the past week I've had my head wedged as far up my backside as it will go, vascillating wildly from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other, sometimes in under five minutes .  Due to a couple of things  in the passt couple of days I'm feeling LOTS better, and the show tonight is like my reward for not killing someone.

In other news:

aaaaaawwwwww

zzzz...wha? Oh...um...

I am v. tired today.  Last night I couldn't sleep due to not only crazy legs, but CRAZY ARMS. Who even knew this was possible?  So 4am found me tossing and turning and near screaming out loud from frustration.  It wouldn't have been so bad except I had to be up early this morning. I made it and got where I needed to go on time...but I'm all snoozy now.

Splitsville tomorrow night ! WOO!

(WOOOOOOOOOO!)

Rock and Roll weekend...

So, who all's coming out for what this weekend?

I am gonna forego the joy of countless twelve year old asian girls and the dirty middle aged men who love them this weekend, and NOT work Pufi Ami Yumi, so that I can go enjoy some excellent music performed by some of my favourite people...

Saturday night at Gunther Murphy's, my darling boys, Baltimore's finest Splitsville will be raising the roof...you can also check 'em out on FearlessRadio.com at 12pm (1pm on the East Coast) today, Paul and Tony will be doing an interview.  If you're not familliar with Splitsville, you should be, because they completely rock, think about it, you're reading this on the internet, so it must be true.

Sunday night, Chicago's finest Dirtbox Racers will be throwing down over at The Mutiny. Come by for some top notch rock and roll, beer served in mini pitchers, and to witness Quattro's slow but sure transformation into Gregg Allman.  That's not enough to sell you? How 'bout NO COVER, BITCHES!!

Another entry where I am a whiny foot stompy baby

Apologies to any and all co-workers who read who had to tolerate my insufferable snark this evening.  I was actually fairly sunny earlier in the day and then it ended abruptly.  I don't know if I can place all the blame on the fact that  this was exactly a year ago today (ooh, wait! I teared up uncontrollably as I typed that! maybe I CAN!) there's a bunch of stuff gnawing away at my psyche lately.  Fortunately for y'all, I'm not in a sharing mood..so let's just say I'm sad because a year later my cat is still dead, and I still miss him.

This is a joke, yes??

Garbage puts on a good show, worked stage door so saw most of it. I recommend checking them out if you can..  Shirley Manson is glorious...I've no inclination to switch teams, but after a few shots of tequila, I'd totally make out with her.

I'm gonna go to bed and see if I can't get to sleep before 3am for once....although I'll admit, I'm not optimistic.

Misc...

Wooo! Insomnia!!! WOOOOO!!! I was really hoping the fact I only slept for a few hours, combined with the fact that I sat in the sun drinking beer and stuffing myself sick with charred meat products over at chez Mr. Chris, Plus the fact that my bed is made with nice clean sheets would mean retiring early tonight.

But no.

I got home and got all caught up in packaging and addressing a bunch of ebay crap I have to take to the post office tomorrow..then I started watching movies I borrowed from Mr. Chris...and now it's nearly 2:30, and I'm all bright eyed and bushy tailed, and doing important things like scrounging around for other items to hawk on ebay (ever look around your house and feel like it was closing in on you? TOO. MUCH. STUFF. - am going through that recently and decided to see if I can't make a buck or two before I start throwing things out) and reading stupid surveys on Myspace.  I'm so productive.

Debating whether I should dye my hair now or wait until I get up later...must look pretty for Garbage.

August 21, 2005

Snark-a-doodle-doo!

Big ole hip-hop clusterfuck at work tonight.  Didn't get out of work til 2am...came straight home, not wanting to pay for cab later...I am now wired, wide awake, and generally annoyed. And it's 4am! Woo!

And, AND - My bed is covered in laundry, and miscelaneous crap I was sorting for ebay earlier before the day got away from me and I had to go to work, so before I can go to bed, I have to put away laundry, and find some other place to put all the other crap, other than the floor, and frankly right now I just can't be arsed.

On the bright side, Garbage is on Monday, which I'm rather looking forward to...

Oh, and a side note to ubermilf (who, by the way, I've decided has made it her mission to always include a night terror inducing image in every post) - if you're still looking to watch the unwatchable - MeTV is playing this made for TV gem...I'm finding it shockingly disappointing for a movie that features a stellar cast, including the likes of David Hasselhoff, Corbin Bernsen, and Cheech Marin...oh wait,  look, M*A*S*H is on in 10 minutes...I'm saved!!
